Travel to Hershey, Pennsylvania

It has been called “The Sweetest Place on Earth” and “The Town Built on Chocolate.” We’re talking about Hershey Pennsylvania, and if you have yet to visit this town, famous as the home of Hershey Chocolate, maybe you should consider a trip.

While many will be heading south this season in their class A or class C motorhome, some will be making a trip north to the land of chocolate. You see, Hershey promotes itself as a year ‘round destination. The Hersheypark Amusement Park currently has its “Hersheypark in the Dark” special going on weekends through November 3rd. Hersheypark in the Dark is a Halloween themed spin to the park with “roller ghosters” and other spooktacular attractions. After Halloween, the park will convert to its annual Hersheypark Christmas Candylane theme.

Beyond the thrills of Hersheypark, Hershey, PA has a host of other attractions as well. You can Tour the factory and create your own candy bar as part of your visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World. Hershey Gardens is over 23 acres of botanical beauty that reflects the seasons. ZooAmerica is a walk through wildlife park adjacent to Hersheypark and the perfect place for animal lovers. ZooAmerica is open all year.

Learn about the history of Hershey and chocolate at The Hershey Story, a combination museum, chocolate lab, and chocolate tasting facility that is fun for the whole family. For sports fans, Hershey has a minor league hockey club called the Hershey Bears. Hershey has multiple golf courses, a Chocolate Spa, and plenty of dining and shopping opportunities.

One thing you may not know about Hershey is that it plays host to America’s Largest RV Show each September. This past year, the event set another attendance record with almost 44,000 people attending and over 1,200 new units on display.

The area has plenty of campgrounds including one at Hersheypark. Hershey is located in a scenic and historical part of Pennsylvania, and if you travel here, you will likely also want to stop in the nearby historic communities of Gettysburg and Lancaster.
